Throwback: This incident occurred on November 7, 2024 near Spain’s Canary Islands. The captain of Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas said the ship was caught in winds gusting from 46 to 86 mph. The rough seas resulted in a rogue wave hitting the vessel. Thankfully the ship was able to recover.
