Today was the big one — 14 miles in steady rain with temps around 70°. The cooler weather felt amazing, even if the constant drizzle made this run a soggy grind.
I held a steady 9:04/mi pace with an average 135 bpm heart rate, which feels like a huge win for a run this long. This puts me one big step closer to race day and adds a major chunk of mileage to my training week.
Long runs like this are where marathon fitness is built — learning to stay patient, keep your effort controlled, and embrace whatever the weather throws your way. Some days it’s blazing hot, other days it’s pouring rain — but showing up is what matters most.
